It prepares staff and academic staff to perform their jobs with distinction through a coordinated set of complementary initiatives that support employee career paths.

This initiative is related to the provision of individual counseling in the vocational field, training, and vocational talks.

A career conversation template for academics and staff to use when discussing career development aspirations and plans (for example, a tailored plan, a learning and development plan in ePmD). This initiative is related to training and mentoring.

A set of psychometric and behavioral tools for the development of personal and collective abilities. These tools relate specifically to coaching and mentoring initiatives, but can be applied in any context where there is a need for self- and group-awareness.

Opportunity to learn and develop a career through temporary employment (ISU Fellowship) by offering academic expertise or a functional field of work, while remaining in your current job. This initiative is related to training, vocational advice and guidance.

Employees have the opportunity to reflect, exchange ideas and plan about their future career path individually or in small groups organized in person or remotely through virtual seminars. These initiatives are linked to professional conversations.

Coaching is one of the best recognized ways to develop an individual’s leadership skills. Certified trainers offer individual sessions or small group workshops. Both managers and employees can benefit from this training. This initiative is linked to the organization’s program for developing leadership and management skills.

ISU’s International Competence Model

::::: Fellowship and Career Development Center :::::

ISU is progressing in an evolving environment and the enhanced global competency model reflects the behaviors, standards and values that will ensure the success of the university along with the personal and professional development of academics and staff.
The General International Competences provide us with a common language for defining the behaviors required in different jobs. ISU’s enhanced global competency model is integrated into the HR strategy and its main components.
Each competency includes a set of behavioral and academic indicators required of the employee at the university at the specific job level and the assigned academic degree.
Three groups of competencies have been identified: academic, managerial and leadership to remind us of the successful behaviors that we need to display in all our daily work at ISU.
ISU’s Enhanced International Competence Model is the result of a consultative process across the university and is intended to be a fairly complete resource in your exploration and implementation of organizational competencies.

ISU Work Environment

::::: Fellowship and Career Development Center :::::

In line with our programs to achieve a distinguished educational life, our university promotes mental and physical health through evidence-based initiatives, policies and tools aimed at supporting our cadres. Our mission is to strengthen societies, fight poverty through education and provide high quality education to students of war and crisis countries. Therefore, we aim to motivate our staff to “turn words into action” and encourage lifestyles and behaviour.

Our university is committed to providing a work environment that respects the inherent dignity of all people. It is the University’s responsibility to take all appropriate measures to prevent and address harassment, including sexual harassment, discrimination and abuse of authority (collectively, “abusive behaviour”) in the workplace or in connection with work. The university has zero tolerance for abusive behaviour, and all forms of abusive behavior in the university and educational process are prohibited.

In addition to the right of every person to be treated with dignity and respect and to work in a safe environment free from abusive behavior, each person has a corresponding responsibility to promote this environment effectively and to act in accordance with the policies and regulations of the university. The University Code of Ethics and rules of professional conduct stipulate that all university staff and anyone working under a contract issued by the university must act in a professional manner that demonstrates respect, public morals and cultural considerations, and treat all persons they deal with with dignity and respect as part of their work for ISU .

ISU prohibits and undertakes to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse in its workplaces, whether virtual or physical.
Sexual exploitation and abuse is a violation of universally recognized international legal norms and standards. Solomon International University considers such acts to be gross misconduct that may form the basis of disciplinary action, including dismissal without notice and criminal prosecution.

Engaging students and obtaining information from them is critical to providing protection from sexual exploitation and abuse. ISU is working to raise awareness in the field at the level of university students by listening from them and by promoting our safe, accessible and confidential mechanism in order to encourage students to report incidents.
