About the Academic Track

The Bachelor’s of Journalism and New Media is one of the new tracks, and it has been offered in a number of international universities in Europe and America and in a number of Arab countries. The transformation of many international newspapers from paper newspapers to electronic newspapers, and the increase in reliance on electronic media by television and radio stations in various countries of the world, and the spread of social networking sites in an unprecedented manner.

The importance of this academic track

The media, with its advanced means, is the most powerful modern communication tool that helps the individual to live with the age and interact with it, and the media has an important role in explaining issues and presenting them to the public opinion in order to prepare it in the media, and the twenty-first century brings with it a new era, an era in which the media has the first word in In the shadow of the communication and information revolution, that revolution that will not stop with the continuation of the process of innovation and change, and this revolution has led to a huge development in communication and information technology and the world has become a small electronic village. In fact, the media in the modern era has become a part of people’s lives just as building The state economically, socially, and politically requires the use of various means and media. Rather, development projects can only succeed with the participation of peoples, and this is something that can only be achieved with the help of the media.

Objectives

  • Providing the student with information and knowledge related to digital media systems, legislation, ethics, theories and effects, the Internet and modern communication technologies.
  • Enabling students to prepare and produce media materials that can be submitted via the Internet and its applications.
  • Developing students’ capabilities in conducting media research, audience studies, public opinion, and planning and implementing media campaigns.
  • Raise students’ competence in criticizing and analyzing digital media materials.
  • Refine students’ talents in using digital media technologies effectively.
  • Providing the appropriate environment for training students to operate and manage digital media platforms inside and outside the university. ​

Study Duration

The duration of study to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication for all disciplines is four academic years for those accepted on the basis of the secondary certificate, and two years for those accepted into the promotion program according to the institute. and competence.
The duration of the default study is four years, but it is possible to take full-time and intensive studies so that the student can graduate in three years.
The academic year is divided into three semesters, and the University Council determines the start and end dates of the study and the dates of exams according to the university calendar.

Conditions for success and graduation

1 . Each course is given a mark out of 100.
2 . The student is considered to have passed the course if he obtains a final result greater or equal to 55% of the course’s top grade.
3 . In the event that a student succeeds in a course and obtains a full mark, the university has the right to check the student’s level through an oral interview or a written exam, and confirm his success in the course or declare his failure in it, if it is not at the required level.
4 . If the student fails the course, he must repeat it with his exams, and repay the full costs.
Graduation average:
The averages of the courses in which the student passed for the five years are summed and divided by the total number of courses, and the overall average is extracted.
