SALIHU, SANUSI AVIDIME: RESUME

Born on July 14 1976, Saliu-O, SanusiAvidime (PhD) completed his primary school education in 1988 at LSMB Central School II, Okene, Kogi State. He proceeded to Abdula Aziz Atta Memorial College, Okene, Kogi State for his secondary school education and finished in 1994. Enrolled for GCE and had General Certificate in Education, O/L in 1996. At UsmanuDanfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria, he studied Political Science and graduated with Second Class Honors in 2000/2001 academic session.

After the completion of the one year compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with the Department of National Civic Registration (DNCR) Headquarters FCT, Abuja in 2003, he proceeded to Bayero University, Kano and obtained Master of Public Policy and Administration in 2005. At Graduate school, University of Calabar, Cross-River State, Nigeria, he obtained Master of Science in Finance (MSc) with special bias in Public Finance in 2007. His MSc dissertation was on “Finances and Performances of Public Enterprises in Nigeria: An Evaluation of the Nigerian Railway Corporation”.

Immediately after his programme, the University of Calabar engaged him on part-time at its then Abuja Study Centre.

Dr. Avidime joined the service of the Kogi State University, Anyigba, Nigeria as an Assistant Lecturer in the department of Political Science, where he rose through the ranks to become due an Associate Professor. His PhD thesis was on “Internal Democracy and Democratic Consolidation in Kogi State, Nigeria: A Study of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) (1999-2013).

Dr. Avidime has over the years, taught virtually all the courses in Political Science and in the course of his working career, he has held several administrative and academic positions the highlight of which includes the following: Two Times Head of Department of Political Science; Secretary, Departmental Committee on Alleged Fraudulent Practices over Examination Results; Member, University Task Force on Examination Frauds; Member, University Committee to Review Schemes and Conditions of Service; Assessor, Journal of Contemporary Social Research; Associate Editor, Kogi Journal of Politics.

Dr. Avidime has to his credit, quite a number of publications in both local/national and international outlets. His academic discipline/research interest covers Democratic Studies, Intra-Party democracy, public accountability, Grassroot Development and Elections/Voting Behaviourof Nigerians. He has taught several postgraduate courses and supervised numerous MPA/MSc dissertations. His hobbies are Quranic Recitation, Praying, Table-tennis and Teaching. He is dedicated to community service.
